As well as stuff like Lumion, Unreal Engine and Unity, which aren’t plugins but will also totally work. Then there are the real-time render engines, like U-render which is a fully integrated plugin to C4D and will work just fine on AMD cards…. So this is probably the best option, if you want a traditional pathtracer.

Then there’s Indigo, which is also a CPU/GPU renderer but does support newer (Zen based) AMD GPUs like the current 6000 series. Cycles in Blender may work as well, but the C4D version I’m pretty sure doesn’t support AMD cards anymore. Thea still sort of kinda supports AMD cards in its GPU mode, but only much older GPUs (GCN based) apparantly. but again the CPU mode will work just fine. Sure, you can’t use the GPU acceleration, as that bit is nvidia only, but the CPU render engine will work just fine.Īnd that goes for all CPU render engines: Arnold, Corona, VRay, Maxwell, Cycles4D, Thea.Īrnold, Vray and Cycles have GPU or Hybrid (CPU+GPU) that you can’t use cause they’ve all abandoned (or never made) thier AMD support in newer versions of the render engines…. Octane and Redshift should work on the MacBook (depending on how old it is), but won’t work on AMD GPUs on windows.īut if you realllllyy want to use a third party render engine in windows:Īrnold is primarily a CPU render engine, that part will work on your machine regardless of your GPU. The built in engines will work just fine. If you have feedback on the subreddit theme, feel free to send /u/Cryptonaut a message.
